Brothers John and Harry Jaecker graduated from Rensselaer in 1933 and 1934 respectively. In 1974, almost 30 years after John's premature death, Harry established the John H. Jaecker ’33 Memorial Scholarship at Rensselaer. This scholarship has supported generations of engineering students at Rensselaer over the years. Paul Noon ’15 was selected for the Jaecker Memorial Scholarship in his freshman year after his family encountered financial hardship.
"Getting this scholarship was a huge relief," Paul relates. "It made a really big difference in my life by allowing me to stay at Rensselaer and graduate here. I certainly hope to have the opportunity in the future to establish a scholarship that will allow hard working students to go to a great university like Rensselaer."
